By Air :
The nearest airport from Dehradun is the Jolly Grant around 25 km away, on the outskirts of the town. There are regular flights to Dehradun from New Delhi scheduled domestic airlines for easy connection.

By Rail :

Dehradun is a major railhead on the Northern Railway and is connected with direct trains to almost all the big cities of India and important tourist destinations in Uttar Pradesh. The Shatabdi Express is the best option for the tourists coming from Delhi while the Mussorie Express is a good option for those coming down from Mussorie. The Dehradun-Mumbai Express connects the city to the business capital of the country and there are other trains to Varanasi , Calcutta and Lucknow .

Taxi :
Taxis are available to and from Delhi , Haridwar, Rishikesh and Mussoorie. Other than for Mussoorie (for which taxis are available near Mussoorie Bus Stand), the taxi service for other nearby places are available from Delhi Bus Stand.
